Dust 514 and Eve online
a few years from now CCP games is planning on releasing a console title "Dust 514" for the Xbox 360 and the Ps3. This game is promised to be connected to Eve online's planetary interaction which is to be released in the summer of this year. Here are my thoughts on the game, my intentions and what I believe it will do for eve as a whole.
in Dust 514 you play the role of a footsoldier in taking or defending the structures on a planet. more then this i do not know, but it has been promised to connect with Eve in new and fantastic ways. will you be a merc, working for the highest bidder? or will you be the loyal footsoldier of an empire, fighting for the goals of your empire and at the whim of the sovereign. all of this is preliminary but my plans are as follows.
I plan on joining a PMC, fighting for money, glory, and in any way I can. Dust 514 promisses so much and all i can do is wait and hope. A few things that I hope are implemented are full weapons and gear customization. i want my soldier to look exactly like I want him to, full facial structure body structure editing, multiple different weapons customizable to the paint job, landing craft, emblems etc. all will be great, most will be acceptable. as a multiplayer game i want full cross system compatability, massive awe inspiring environments suitable for both the tactical gamer and the rushers. The game should be as easy and fun to play as Eve is and with all the time they have left to build it i'm sure it will be.
Dust 514 will be the greatest thing to happen to gaming since the rpg, may it be as great as they say

Eve Community, Roleplayers
The roleplayers of eve, both well known and unknown, all share one thing in common... a love of the game. These individuals know every corner of the backstory, some can recite every leader of every nation. Pirates, Militia, loyalists. dissenters, they all share the common thread in the eve universe which makes them both respected, and in some cases feared. In this blog i will speak my opinions of some of the more well known of this group, i opologise if you didn't show up but it's probably because you havn't made much of an impact on my personal eve experience.

Ships. Their names, Stories and futures
As a player of Eve online i have come to love and respect the internet spaceships I fly, from the powerful Typhoon class Battleship to the small but dangerous Hound class stealthbomber. today i will tank about some of these ships and their role in my Eve experience.
I'm going to start off with the largest ship in my collection, the Minmatar
Typhoon class battleship. My Typhoon, affectionatly named "Drache" or dragon in german is a monster which deals incredible ammounts of damage per volley with both long and short range fits. An unfortunate side effect of flying this ship with sheer damage dealing capabilities is it's inability to take damage, while not a problem when fighting NPCs (non-pod-captains) it is a problem when fighting against other players whom actually switch target's when the opportunity arises. That being said the "Drache" can deal it's best damage at well over 60km and out to 160km and is a force to be reckoned with on the battlefields of eve.
But not all my ships were fit for pure DPS (damage-per-second), The Minmatar
Rupture class cruiser affectionatly named "Abbruch" was fit and outfitted to have a mean armor tank. This whips tank regenerates its armor at a respectable 10.5 hp/s dual running medium armor repairers with full cap stability even when hit with a light to medium energy vampire. Fit with 4 high end 800mm Medium Howitzers it can deal death out to 22km and Fend off it's own death while under heavy duress.
Let it never be said that combat is the only way to solve a problem. The Minmatar Hound class
stealthbomber is known as the best stealthbomber on the market, with the ability to move at full speed and even warp while under the effect of a covert operations cloaking device II it makes for a fine stealthy sentinal. My personal Hound has been named "The Black Death II" it is the second stealthbomber i have owned after loosing the first to a lucky shot of a battlecruiser. fit with three battleship grade torpedo launchers and with a huge velocity bonus to the armaments it can uncloak fire a volley and cloak before the torpedoes hit 44km away.
Bot not all of my ships are fit for combat and death dealing, my Minmatar Trasher class
destroyer has been fit for one purpose and one purpose only, Salvage. "The Last Chance" has seen many changes in the time it has been piloted by me. evolving from a combat ship to a combat/salvage to it's current fit with every high slot fit to salvage and microwarpdrives/ afterburners to make the travel quicker it can reack upwards of 1500m/s with a microwarpdrive and 780m/s with an afterburner activated. While a failure in a conventional fight i guarantee it will salvage your wreck faster than you can.
The Future:
In the future I am planning first off to obtain a Minmatar Maelstrom class battleship, able to fit 8 large projectile weapons and with a bonus to shield tanking I will make this ship into a combat machine. With its damage dealing potential reaching massive levels per volley it will be the most beutiful and deadly ship in my fleet.
Ships no matter what you fly are the lifeblood of eve, from massive Titan class ships to the humble frigates.
On that note i bid you farewell, till next tuesday

The Coming of Age of a Capsuleer
About 5 months ago I began playing a well respected MMO known as EVE Online. Since then I have seen and learned much about this world I now imerse myself in. I begin this blog now as I did the game, eager yet untested.
My first day in New Eden (for that is what we call this world) started with a trial account that went by another name. New and excited I trained all sorts of interesting and expansive skills... my dreams laid bare for all to see. I wanted to fly, to be the best the brightest and the greatest pilot this game had ever seen. The first step in my quest for power was to fly the biggest ship I could get my hands on as soon as possible. So I trained my way into a battlecruiser and was promptly beset by money issues. The Currency of this game is known as ISK. After spending all I had (30 Million) on a battlecruiser I found myself poor and in a large ship that I later learned I had no bussiness flying with my support skills as low as they were. After scanning another person's ship in search of a fit I found my corporation beset by enemies who told me that scanning a ship was a percieved threat to the owner of said ship therefore, I had to die. Discouraged and realising then that my character was a mess of jumbled and useless skills I dropped him and started from scratch, and thus was Jarik Utoni born.
To help pass the time as I played and Trained my way to percieved perfection I found and Joined a chat channel for roleplayers known as OOC. OOC chat was filled with the most informed and interesting people I had seen thus far. While suspicious at first I slowly gained at least some form of respect, while i have not proven myself as a roleplayer my player Biography was complete enough to be a basis for one. Having been a part of roleplay communities on other sites so I knew how roleplay is done and followed all the latest in-game news to keep myself "In the know". During this time I was offered and I respectfully rejected a place in a Galliente militia roleplay corporation by the CEO known as Seri . Though I was interested I had to reject for computer reasons more rather than personal reasons. But this got me thinking about finding some work, to support my bottom line. Using my extensive Covert ops training I sercured jobs and a little respect with various unnamed corporations for scouting and other jobs that only a pilot with a covert ops cloak could do safely. After a while I felt the need for a group of people that I could, if not fully trust, at least fight alongside.
So, about 4-6 weeks ago, I joined the corporation my friend had started known as Valhala Industries as a covert operation and information gathering expert. There I met people that I got along with. Though my previous work instilled me with a paranoia that persists to this day, thusfar i have been able to trust these people with my life.
So the story began, but how will it end? Only time will tell, and time isn't sharing it's secrets.
