The Coming of Age of a Capsuleer

About 5 months ago I began playing a well respected MMO known as EVE Online. Since then I have seen and learned much about this world I now imerse myself in. I begin this blog now as I did the game, eager yet untested.

My first day in New Eden (for that is what we call this world) started with a trial account that went by another name. New and excited I trained all sorts of interesting and expansive skills... my dreams laid bare for all to see. I wanted to fly, to be the best the brightest and the greatest pilot this game had ever seen. The first step in my quest for power was to fly the biggest ship I could get my hands on as soon as possible. So I trained my way into a battlecruiser and was promptly beset by money issues. The Currency of this game is known as ISK. After spending all I had (30 Million) on a battlecruiser I found myself poor and in a large ship that I later learned I had no bussiness flying with my support skills as low as they were. After scanning another person's ship in search of a fit I found my corporation beset by enemies who told me that scanning a ship was a percieved threat to the owner of said ship therefore, I had to die. Discouraged and realising then that my character was a mess of jumbled and useless skills I dropped him and started from scratch, and thus was Jarik Utoni born.

Jarik Utoni is a Minmatar Brutor. I chose this character because while I was playing with my old one I realised that not only did i like the look of Minmatar ships (think rust and scrap) i loved the sound of projectile weapons, especially artillery. But as soon as I started Jarik I knew that I needed to solidify a career path to avoid the problems that plagued me on my earlier character. I choose Covert operations as my career path and for the next three months my training was set.
To help pass the time as I played and Trained my way to percieved perfection I found and Joined a chat channel for roleplayers known as OOC. OOC chat was filled with the most informed and interesting people I had seen thus far. While suspicious at first I slowly gained at least some form of respect, while i have not proven myself as a roleplayer my player Biography was complete enough to be a basis for one. Having been a part of roleplay communities on other sites so I knew how roleplay is done and followed all the latest in-game news to keep myself "In the know". During this time I was offered and I respectfully rejected a place in a Galliente militia roleplay corporation by the CEO known as Seri . Though I was interested I had to reject for computer reasons more rather than personal reasons. But this got me thinking about finding some work, to support my bottom line. Using my extensive Covert ops training I sercured jobs and a little respect with various unnamed corporations for scouting and other jobs that only a pilot with a covert ops cloak could do safely. After a while I felt the need for a group of people that I could, if not fully trust, at least fight alongside.

So, about 4-6 weeks ago, I joined the corporation my friend had started known as Valhala Industries as a covert operation and information gathering expert. There I met people that I got along with. Though my previous work instilled me with a paranoia that persists to this day, thusfar i have been able to trust these people with my life.

So the story began, but how will it end? Only time will tell, and time isn't sharing it's secrets.
